New Label is All-In for First Signing with Debut Single, “You Ain’t Pretty,” Coming This Friday, October 30
NASHVILLE, TN (October 26, 2020) – Today Quartz Hill Records, the newly-formed joint partnership with leading global music distribution company The Orchard, announced the signing of its flagship artist, Country newcomer Nate Barnes.
Nate Barnes is a young, blue-collar storyteller who writes and sings about God, family, hard work, heartache, love, and the simple joys of life. Hailing from South Haven, Michigan, the former power plant worker spent years playing bars, coffee shops, small venues and festivals in and around his hometown until one fateful day when he met chart-topping songwriter Jason Sellers while passing through Nashville. A chance meeting turned into a conversation, which led to a song, and then to a meeting with pioneering Music Row label head Benny Brown. That meeting ultimately landed Barnes a record deal with Quartz Hill Records, helmed by Brown alongside Paul Brown and Jason Sellers.

Nate’s a hard worker and has spent his whole life doing manual labor. His music is honest and about real, hardworking people. Fans will get their first listen of Barnes’ brand of authentic, honest Country music this Friday, October 30 with the worldwide release of his empowering debut single, “You Ain’t Pretty,” co-written by Barnes, Sellers and Jimmy Yeary.
Earlier this month, Quartz Hill Records announced its first round of key hires, reuniting many former staffers with Benny Brown whose legacy includes breaking multi-platinum superstar Jason Aldean all while growing his former company BBR Music Group into one of the largest independent country label groups in the United States prior to its sale in 2017.
